uSafeUS provides survivors, allies, family members, faculty, staff, and community members at US colleges and universities with instant access to localized information and tools for the prevention of and response to sexual assault, stalking, and relationship violence. uSafeUS includes interactive tools to help keep students safe in potentially dangerous situations.

Features:

Time to Leave™: Send yourself a fake text or call to make it easy to leave an uncomfortable situation.

Expect Me™: Enlist friends to ensure you get home safely, for example when walking alone at night, with automated texts and GPS tracking.

Sound the Alarm: Launch a loud, flashing alarm if you are threatened.

Angel Drink: Give an SOS disguised as a drink recipe to bartenders if you’re being harassed.

Find Help: Campus and community safety, medical, and counseling resources if you or a friend need help.

Helpful Answers: Answers about sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking, to help yourself or a friend.

What Next?: A step-by-step guide explaining all options in the aftermath of an assault.

uSafeUS also offers research and trauma informed information, in the form of both helpful answers and options / next steps, which support victims and their allies in the aftermath of stalking, dating violence or sexual assault. Finally, uSafeUS provides colleges and universities with control of the local resource information students have access to, in the event of an assault, to help ensure incidents are properly handled.

uSafeUS was developed by the University of New Hampshire Prevention Innovations Research Center, which has conducted more than a decade of research into preventing sexual violence and stalking.

PIRC collaborated with a wide range of university and state organizations in the development of uSafeNH, including the STEM Discovery Laboratory at UNH Manchester, the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, the NH SART Project, the NH Attorney General’s Office, and the NH Violence Against Women Campus Consortium. The NH Attorney General endorses uSafeUS. Connect with uSafeUS at this email: [email protected], or on Twitter or Instagram: @uSafeUS.
